Signs of ageing
At some point in our lives we will all begin to notice the first visible signs of our skin ageing.
Whilst getting older is not preventable, there are steps that can be taken to help reduce the appearance of ageing skin and reduce the visible signs of premature ageing. The age people start seeing the first signs of ageing vary depending on genetics and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure, diet, lack of sleep, and smoking can all cause ageing to appear as early as your 20’s.
As we age, our body’s ability to repair decreases and is unable to efficiently produce enough collagen and elastin in our skin and begins to break down skin cells resulting in weaker, thinner skin and wrinkles. An effective anti-ageing routine such as Fade Out Advanced+ Age Protection can help to plump, firm and reduce signs of ageing.
What are the signs of ageing?
Fine lines and wrinkles are often the first signs of ageing. Over time these become more visible around the eyes, forehead, neck and décolletage. As the skin becomes thinner, these wrinkles appear deeper and more apparent.
Over time, our skin begins to lose volume and elasticity resulting in weaker, sagging skin that can make you look older than your years.
Dark spots can become darker and more defined as we age. Caused by sun exposure throughout your life, discoloured skin can be stubborn to resolve, it can be helped with lifestyle changes and a skincare regime to help even skin tone.
As we age, our skin becomes drier, resulting in the skin to appear flaky, tight and lacklustre. Dry, dehydrated skin can make you look older as it can cause wrinkles to appear more defined and increase in number.
- Eye bags and dark circles
Eyes are often the first to show visible signs of ageing. Eye bags and dark circles, alongside puffiness become more evident over time and can become worse due to lifestyle factors. Dark circles can make you appear older, more tired and gaunt, however they can be improved with the use of an effective eye cream such as Fade Out Eye Defence Cream SPF25.
How to reduce signs of ageing?
Whilst ageing is inevitable and some signs cannot be prevented, a good skincare routine and lifestyle factors can help to slow down the process and reduce signs of ageing.
